Commercial Activity Booms in Tower Grove Neighborhoods
“Downtown” Shaw is located at Shenandoah and Thurman Avenue. Over the last few years, 6 new businesses have started on this popular and active corner in a neighborhood of over 6,000 residents. The businesses include Pinxet Photography, Lynn Terry Photography, Restitute Coffee House, The Social Affair at the Station, Artisan Salon, and STLphotographer. These businesses join the “neighborhood” Pub and Grill, Thurman Grill, Christ the Good Shepard Church and Tower Grove Neighborhoods CDC.
The growth of small businesses on the interior of our neighborhoods is a great sign of revitalization and supports the notion people desire to live in a place where getting in a car for services is optional.
In addition, in Southwest Garden, Three Flags restaurant is open (in the old Henry’s restaurant space) and the new Park Central Coffee house is open on Vandeventer as well.
Last, in Tower Grove South, the London Tea Room opened on Morganford and there is a rumor the old Tim Can on Morganford will get a complete renovation for a new restaurant. In addition, The Dam restaurant recently opened.
