Tower Grove Community Development Corporation (TGCDC) has historically serviced the neighborhoods of Tower Grove South, Southwest Garden and Shaw. With drastic improvements to the area over the past 40 years and limited opportunities to continue work to develop vacant buildings/eliminate nuisance properties, along with signifigant growth in revenue producing services provided to the entire City of Saint Louis and beyond, Tower Grove Community Development Corporation has increased it’s service area to the fifteen counties of the St. Louis Metropolitan region. We will continue to support our historic service area’s growth as a real estate-related community development corporation by promoting responsible development, developing market rate/affordable housing and addressing vacant and abandoned property.
In addition to development, tenant screening (HomeScreen and housing placement services for not for profits (Arch By HomeScreen)) community development consultation, and work advocating for energy efficiency, TGCDC participates in steering committees and advises and facilitates infrastructure improvements, TGCDC advises neighborhood associations, developers and CIDs/SBDs on best practices to address vacancy, nuisance statute lawsuits, development, and development incentives such as Tax Abatement and Missouri and Federal Historic Preservation tax credits and other programs. We work with community organizations,Alderpersons, and local government to assist with neighborhood stabilization and economic development.
TGNCDC’s CDBG Neighborhood Improvement Program and related activities is financed wholly through a grant from the Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Community Development Administration under the provision of Title I of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974 (Pub L, 93-383 42 USC 5301 et seq.) and/or HOME Title II of the National Affordable Housing Act of 1990, as amended (Public Law 101-625).
