Framework and Vision Plan Open House Workshop Helps TGNCDC Set Objectives for Future Neighborhood Work
Over 50 residents, business owners, and other stakeholders came out last Wednesday night to hear a presentation on the current framework and vision plan initiated by Tower Grove Neighborhoods CDC and produced by H3 Studio. Ideas revolving around transit, park connectivity, development plans and areas of opportunity were discussed and additional feedback was collected.
With the decrease in Community Development Block Grants, TGNCDC is challenged with diversifying income streams to be financially able to continue work in the three neighborhoods of Shaw, Tower Grove South and Southwest Garden neighborhoods. While the ultimate goal could be a formal neighborhood plan, adopted and supported by Saint Louis City, the Framework and Vision Plan provides a foundation for TGNCDC and other neighborhood not for profits to develop work plans and attract funding opportunities. The Framework and Vision Plan also aligns with the citywide real estate assessment called the Saint Louis City Market Value Analysis ( https://www.stlouis-mo.gov/government/departments/planning/documents/Residential-Market-Analysis-2014.cfm) and the 5 year Saint Louis City Consolidated Plan (https://www.stlouis-mo.gov/government/departments/community-development/2015-19-consolidated-plan.cfm).
We believe our strategic approach to planning through data collection, neighborhood feedback and creative thinking will elevate our organization to one of the premier and trusted community development corporations in Saint Louis.
