TGNCDC Shows Off Redevelopment Work To Neighborhood Stakeholders
On February 4, 2017, Sean Spencer, executive director of Tower Grove Neighborhoods Community Development Corporation, led an enthusiastic group of neighborhood stakeholders on a tour of recent and ongoing redevelopment work in the CDC's service area of Shaw, Tower Grove South and Southwest Garden neighborhoods. Over the course of two hours, tour-goers were able to experience the interior and exterior work on high profile and low profile developments including the opportunity to talk with the developers about the market, product and goals. The tour highlights included an onsite visit to the new UIC (http://uicstl.com/) 4100 Block of DeTonty For Sale and For Rent projects (former long term LRA owned property), the recent TGNCDC "sustaining affordability in Shaw" portfolio purchase of ten buildings on DeTonty in Shaw (http://wp.me/p4d282-Il), the CDA-CDBG subsidized home project at 3722 Tholozan (former LRA owned property), market rate new construction/former LRA property at 4056 DeTonty (http://wp.me/p4d282-Jf) and the newly developed "South Tower Grove South Wedge" portfolio of 26 new and affordable rental apartments TGNCDC is in the process of completing. Coming developments at 3901 Shaw (Wild Carrot event space), 4066 Russell (gas station redevelopment) and 4175 Shaw (Bailey's Range- http://wp.me/p4d282-Ib) were also pointed out.
