TGNCDC Sponsors Neighborhood Visioning Project with Neighborhood Input to Help Frame Our Community Development Strategy

The Tower Grove Neighborhoods Community Development Corporation (TGNCDC) is conducting a community-based Visioning and Development Framework Planning process for the three neighborhoods that it serves. The purpose of this planning process is to develop strategies for each of the three neighborhoods—Southwest Garden, Shaw, and Tower Grove South—and a unified Vision and Framework Plan for the future of the three neighborhoods as a whole. This Plan will assist the TGNCDC in programming, grant-writing, and providing high-quality services to the citizens of these neighborhoods. The neighborhood visioning project includes collecting information about the needs of the community from the community.  With generous support from PNC Bank and additional support from neighborhood associations/housing corporations in the service area, TGNCDC has hired well respected, professional consulting firm, H3 Studios, to lead the effort. To be clear, TGNCDC is not pursuing combining neighborhoods, we are strictly focused on developing a plan to continue to serve the neighborhoods, as we have for over 30 years.  We will continue to work in harmony with other business district organizations and neighborhood organizations. The resulting information can be and should be used by neighborhood organizers/business district organizers to help develop their own specific objectives.

On June 16th, 2014, H3 Studios started the neighborhood visioning process by holding three focus groups.  One focus group represented each neighborhood we serve.  In addition, H3 Studios will personally interview additional stakeholders who were unable to attend.

H3 Studios will hold an open house forum to collect feedback on June 28th from 11am to 1pm.  It will be held at The Journey Tower Grove at 4900 Reber Place.  See a Map here https://goo.gl/maps/TOuOM

There will be a short presentation at 11am.  Residents, business owners and any others engaged in the community are encouraged to participate.  We hope you can attend and we hope you will help spread the word.
